, an effort to have dedicated license plates issued in Massachusetts to raise money and awareness in the fight against cancer.
At the Drive In, we'll have a large hospitality trailer and a broadcast of the Brazilian GP, courtesy of Laurie and Andy Sanborn, as well as a great collection of interesting cars.
The event is being spearheaded by Susan Zuker. Many of you know Susan's Husband Michael Zuker, who passed away of lung cancer in 2004 at age 53. Michael was a big supporter of the Museum of Transportation and an avid car person. Susan is petitioning to have "Conquer Cancer" Massachusetts license plates issued in order to raise money for those non-profit organizations in MA dedicated to help conquer all forms of Cancer.
As of today they have applications for 1112 plate and need commitments for only 388 more to get them into production and on the road. THIS EVENT IS TO RAISE AWARENESS OF THIS SPECIAL LICENSE PLATE PURSUIT AND IS NOT A FUNDRAISER PER SE. TO SUPPORT THIS EFFORT, WE ASK THAT YOU SIGN A PETITION TO THE STATE AND SUBMIT A $40 CHECK TO THE REGISTRY AS A DEPOSIT SHOULD THE PETITION BE GRANTED, IN WHICH CASE YOU'LL RECEIVE ONE OF THE SPECIAL CONQUER CANCER LICENSE PLATES.
With your help and participation in the show we can hopefully raise awareness of the Conquer Cancer plate initiative and perhaps be the key catalyst to getting the license plate initiative approved in the state of Massachusetts.
I am looking forward to seeing you on Sunday.
All the best,
Bruce Ledoux, Massachusetts Chapter President
